You must always FOLLOW THE MONEY

Those that follow us on the Community Connection podcast and SoMetro Talk know that we have a saying that we use quite often: “Follow the Money”.

On the first day 45 started his campaign to become President of these “united states”, he immediately began the conversation to expand the deportation of undocumented immigrants to these “united states”. In he first speech to announce his presidential bid, 45 said:

“When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you. They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.”

He was playing on the fears and emotions of those that he himself called “poorly educated”, but was getting elected the only immigration play that was in the works?

Fast forward to less than 500 days (430 days to be exact since January 20, 2017 as of today) into 45’s first (and what we hope will be his only) term in office and once again we find that we need to FOLLOW THE MONEY.

NPR is reporting that 45’s administration wants to expand the number of immigrant detention centers (ie. JAILS).
